Over the past 48 hours I have made some modifications to my blogger blog. I would like to take this time to describe what I did, and how I did it in case any of you out there would like to do the same. I have never done a how-to blog post before so bare with me and don’t eat me (cha chang)!
Modification #1: I added adsense to my earn revenue from my blog. Adsense is a Google advertising program which will post ads on your site that are relevant to your content. In order to place adsense on your site you will need to first create an adsense account. After you have done that you will need to log into your blogger account. Now, to place the ads on your blog follow these simple steps.
A) Click layout, and then page elements.
B) Click “Add a Page Element”
C) Then you will be taken to a page like this. Click AdSense.
D) You will then need to play around with the formatting so that the ads will fit on your blog. That screen looks like this:
On my site I use the 160X600 vertical banner. All other ads wider than 160 seem to get cut off as the margins on blogger are not very wide.
E) Write fantastic articles, build traffic and earn currency to feed your furry friends!… On second thought maybe you should buy yourslef an ice cream instead of feeding honey roasted peanuts to your dog all day. Yikes!
for my feed because they are easy to integrate with blogger and they provide many great additional services. To find out everything they have to offer your blog cli
ck here. Here is what you will need to do for feedburner to handle your RSS feed and have this RSS button placed on your site.
A) Go to feedburner and enter your blog URL in this box:
Then click next… Then follow feedburner instructions…Then follow my instructions.
B) Feedburner will give you a ‘Post Feed Redirect URL’. Go back to blogger, click ‘Settings’ and then ‘Site Feed’. Once on this screen place the ‘Post Feed Redirect URL’ in its box. Your screen should look like this:

C) Now, to obtain the RSS logo for people to subscribe to your blog you will need to be logged into your feedburner account. Click ‘Publicize’ and then ‘Chicklet Chooser’. Your screen should look like this:
Scroll to the bottom of the page, after ‘Use as a widget in’ select ‘Blogger’ and click go. It should look like this:
You will then be taken to a page that looks like this where you will want to ’select a blog’ and write a title that you want to appear above your RSS logo. For example, my title says ‘Subscribe to my blog via rss feed’. Then click ‘add widget’
You will then be taken to your ‘Page Elements’ page within blogger where you can place the RSS icon wherever you like.
If your still with me congrats! Time for a dance break. Check this schizzle out!
Modification #3: Another way to keep people updated on your blog is to have a box where they can subscribe via email. Feedburner also takes care of this.
A) Within your feedburner account click ‘Publicize’. The steps to adding this widget to your blogger blog are basically the same as the RSS feed icon. Just be sure to select ‘Use as a widget in blogger’. Your screen should look something like this:
Modification #4: If you would like to add a paypal ‘Donate’ button to your site then read on.
A) Go to this page, click ‘Sign Up Now!’ and follow the instructions that paypal gives you. If you do not have a paypal account you will need to create one.
B) Paypal will give you a piece of html code which needs to be placed in the ‘HTML/JavaScript’ element. To do this go to your blogger account. Click ‘page elements’ and then ‘add page element’. You will want to select the one that says ‘HTML/JavaScript’. Your screen should look like this:
After you have added the code, position the element just like you would any other element.
C) This step is optional: Write a post on why people should donate to you. Good luck!
Congratulations!!!
You now have adsense on your blog, a RSS feed burned through feedburner, an RSS subscription icon, an email sign up box, and a button for you to receive donations from your loyal readers!
I hope that this was informative and clear. I usually don’t create posts like this, but I made this one because it would have been so much easier for me if I had all this information in one place when I was adding these features to my blog!
If you enjoyed this post, read some of my others, subscribe and tell your friends!
Keep on rockin in the webed world,
Zach
P.S. If you have any questions about anything… (ex. how do I ride a unicycle down stairs while eating cake?) then post them in the comments.
If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!

Zach,
this is totally cool how you have made a “how-to” blog! I have noticed that you have a knack for teaching things (especially procedures) step-by-step.
I have to say that I enjoyed your videos and I look forward to one day owning a room of treadmills for music video production.
until next time,
Isaac
PS: the future is so vast! in all this time-lapsed bounty, your mom bought a bmw!! it’s majorly wicked.
