Hello earthlings,
Today I will try to give an impression as to what this program is ReAlLy about. CWY is a Vortex. Dictionary.com gives the following narrative on what a vortex is:
“A circular, spiral, or helical motion in a fluid (such as a gas) or the fluid in such a motion. A vortex often forms around areas of low pressure and attracts the fluid (and the objects moving within it) toward its center. Tornado’s are examples of vortexes; vortexes that form around flying objects are a source of turbulence and drag.”
Let me begin. The fluid is the participants in the program. Generally, the fluid moves around in a free flowing motion without large obstructions, free to flow where it desires. Examples of this include: choosing who you spend your time with, driving a cement mixer, and jumping out of trees with a harness attached to you. The Vortex is CWY and attracts very colorful fluid from the country of Quebec, and a highly reflective fluid from other parts of Canada. It should be noted that both types of fluid have an idea of what kind of experiences they want to have, but no friecken concept of rush to achieve things that other tpes of fluid splatter and burn to achieve. That is why this type of fluid joined CWY. The flying objects are society. Fortunately for the flying objects, the vortex is there to create turbulence and drag. Unfortunately, the flying objects do seem to be crashing and burning more regularly despite the best efforts of the vortex. It can be noted that CWY is not the only vortex out there, and the fluid within the CWY vortex is not the only type of fluid. Auspiciously, there are hundreds of thousands of vortexes world wide.
Okay, enough doom and gloom. On to Halloween. When I woke up on Oct, 31, 2007 I had no pre-conception that I would do anything that night. However, as it turned out I became…THE BALL CRUSHER! It happened like this. A few weeks ago I was in a tree canopy when I noticed a small Barbie ball on the ground. I descended and inspected it further. Barbie’s golden hair had faded into a pale yellow and her maids had not washed her size -8 clothing in a very long time (I am not making any social commentary, its just that her clothing would need to be very small to be proportionally correct with the ball…) The best news was that she was still inflated, plump and round. I decided to keep this premium ball in my trailer until I had further use for her. So on Halloween night I hid under the trailer and threw Barbie at unsuspecting treaters (there where no tricksters). I then realized that this could be adorned into a costume. I placed my cow-boy hat on top of my head and took the ball in my hands. I was now ready to go-treating with Jorge and two other participants (the Meafordites are not ones to be tricked). Once we arrived at a door I would growl and distort my face, and smash the ball in my powerful paws. I then came up with the name THE BALL CRUSHER. Incredibly, not one person denied me my sweet sweet treats. THE BALL CRUSHER costume was adequately terrifying. I actually did not eat any Candy. I gave it all to one of the participants host-sisters. This proves that BALL CRUSHERS have compassion, even though their main characteristic is smashing balls. Either that or Candy is the ball crushers Kryptonite… All in all, Halloween was smashing.
On Sunday night, the entirety of the CWY group participated in a “Canadian Dance” at a church in Owen Sound. We were by far the youngest demographic in that building. This dance (I have no idea what it is called) revolves around a few main moves and the exchange of many partners. I can see why there were so many matured people (euphemism) there. From my point of view, when you become matured you may have been married to the same person for many years or you might find yourself lonely and in need of mixing things up. This dance is perfect for the matured. Its not to fast as to break any hips, its not to slow as to fall asleep, its not to close to feel intimate, and you get to try out 20 different partners and see who is best. I think it is a great activity for the matured to find a little spice in their life. The Cubans however did not vlaue these same things as the matured. Their list of criteria in dancing is significantly different than the matured. I for one had a blast!
Okay earthlings.
It is now time for me to ascend back into the CWY vortex.
Love to all,
Zach

Zachary, You are absolutely delightful and lovely in your description of life for those who are not so blessed to live out here in the Tri City area, of the GVRD. We love and miss you. Many people out here, check you blog every Monday. Thanks so much for keeping us abreast of things, giving us enormous humour and imagery. I will use your metaphor in your dad’s life. Hahaha!’\
lots of love, Mom,Dad, Chester, Sam
Hey Dude,
I love how you were the Ball Crusher for Halloween! Your selflessness of giving your candy to the local little sister is truly awesome. I believe that you just might be the reincarnation of Robin Hood himself. I am thankful that the vortex is not too strong as to drain you of your energy to write and share your experiences with all of us. I expect many napkin portraits….just kidding.
May the force be with you,
(The latter part of your middle name)
